Just over a week ago I was fortunate enough to be the Photographer at a styled shoot at Penton Park in Penton Mewsey, Hampshire. To say I was totally thrilled is a complete understatement.
I was invited by Rosemary Davies Weddings & Events to photograph the day and help bring in other creative suppliers which between us were quite a few. We only had a few weeks to organise the event as the date had already been set by the venue, the 22nd January – eek ! Nothing like a challenge.
As Christmas came and went the word had spread among everyone involved and the excitement was building. We had bridal accessories, designer gowns, a hair and makeup stylist, a model, vintage china and accessories, a florist, hired furniture, wedding stationery, wedding cakes, you name it we had it.
On the day of the shoot it was just like a real wedding but minus a Groom! Everyone totally on it and running like clockwork. We arrived at Penton Park early, Anna Fullbrook our Hair & Makeup Stylist was keen to get to work on Hayley Adlam our beautiful bridal model. During this time Zoe our Vintage China and Accessories Stylist from Pretty Pieces Perfect Days and Andrea our Florist from Sonning Flowers got to work on styling the dining room table with beautiful fresh vibrant flowers, strings of pearls, the most gorgeous vintage china, candelabras, crystal vases and so much more.
Whilst everyone was styling I got on with capturing shots of the cakes supplied by Ilona at Tiers of Happiness and Emma at Gifted Heart Cakes. Drenched in natural light flooding in through the tall windows in the Ballroom they were a sight to see, so delicate and elegant. The windows and doors are floor to ceiling and edged with stunning shutters making an opportunity to capture well lit images a pure joy. We were lucky enough to have the most magical gowns supplied by Chenca at Ritva Westenius. Hayley our model did not want to give them back! They were exquisite in every way and fit her like a glove. Dresses hanging in the windows and doorways were pure class; Penton is so rich in character with its high ceilings, roaring fires, beautiful architecture.
I captured images from beautifully styled dining tables and chairs decked with floral designs, stunning bridal bouquets next to delicate vintage china and creatively designed wedding stationery by Coral and Slate. We took the opportunity of using Penton’s grand staircase and fireplaces and, when the weather broke, we jumped outside to the magnificent grounds to catch a few moments and shots in the fresh air. Hayley was dressed in each gown and accessorised by twinkling tiaras and veils with pretty jewellery sets thoughtfully supplied by Victoria at Tilly Mint Weddings in Fleet. It was a pure delight to photograph.
All in all, what can I say, it was fantastic to be involved with such amazingly creative and talented wedding suppliers. I would personally recommend each and every one of them for any occasion.
Below are a few images captured on the day which I will also share on on Instagram and Facebook for you to see and share alike! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them.
