Frequently Asked Questions

for your Wedding Day

The Matara - Tetbury - Gloucestershire - Header for Frequently Asked Questions

I consider it a total honour to be asked to capture the beautiful memories of a wedding day. I know that you will have a bunch of questions you would like to ask me and that’s brilliant. As a starter for ten, I’ve listed a few below that might help. If you would like to know something else just get in touch.

Have you worked at our wedding venue before?

There are so many wedding venues in my surrounding areas of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds that it would be almost impossible to have worked at all of them.

For this exact reason, if I haven’t worked there before I will always visit your venue either with you for your engagement shoot or on my own. I will look at all areas from your bridal preparations through to your evening celebrations, that way I can suggest the best areas for your wedding day memories to be captured.

We love your work, are you available for our wedding date?

What a lovely feeling it is to receive questions like this. I always check my calendar and get back to you within 48 hours. If I do have your date available I will mark it in my diary. I only shoot one wedding per weekend which keeps me fresh and energised. If I have another enquiry for that date and you’ve not yet decided, I will always let you know and give you first choice on that date.

How do we book?

Before you make this important decision I would like to suggest we meet up and have a coffee and a natter. I believe meeting face to face is crucial, a wedding photographer will be with you all day; this is pretty huge, you have to like them and feel comfortable and at ease in their company. Asking questions is a good thing.

I will suggest somewhere convenient for both of us to meet and I’ll bring with me more examples of my work. We can talk through your wedding day plans and you can ask me lots of questions. If you would like to go ahead and book me for your big day, I would be absolutely over the moon to be a part of your wedding story.

To secure your wedding date I will ask for a £300 deposit. I will send you an invoice with the details of your collection and how to pay. Once I’ve received your booking fee I’ll send you a receipt to let you know it’s been received safely. I’ll also pop a Wedding Photography Contract in the post to you just laying out all the finer details we would have already discussed, no hidden nasties or agenda here!

Will we get an engagement shoot as well?

As part of my wedding photography coverage an engagement shoot is always included.Engagement photography is a brilliant way to ease even the most camera shy. We have fun, capture some natural images and have a coffee and cheeky piece of cake…well it’s rude not to!!

Are you insured?

Yes, I am insured for Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and Public Indemnity Insurance. Should your venue need proof of my PLI please just let me know.

Do you organise group photographs?

For sure, these are part of your big day. I always suggest up to about 10 group shots and try to keep these to a minimum to let you get back to your guests and celebrations. I will always ask for a list of groups before your day.

What time do you start?

My day starts when your bridal preparations are taking place giving plenty of time for me to capture lots of the little but important details from your dress to your flowers, shoes, jewellery and all the fun of your preparations. This can’t be rushed!
